A native of Richmond, CA, April began singing at just eight years old at North Richmond Missionary Baptist Church. Since then, her voice—and her leadership—have reached far beyond the sanctuary. She’s directed choirs across Northern California and internationally, lending her talent to institutions like the California State Baptist Convention, the Northern California Chapter of GMWA, Bethel A.M.E., and San Francisco’s historic Third Baptist Church.

But her impact doesn’t stop there. Every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., April hosts The Gospel Experience on KPFA Radio, bringing joy, depth, and spiritual uplift to listeners throughout the Bay Area and beyond.
